The Scouts

Norwell is very fortunate, with regard to Scouting, in having :-

A Beaver Colony for ages       6yrs to 8yrs                (in some cases from age 5 3/4yrs ).

A Cub Pack      for ages        8yrs to 10 1/2 yrs

A Scout Troop   for ages 10 1/2yrs to 14yrs

Originally just for boys we now welcome girls and boys. If you wish to find out more contact the Leaders

November 2013 Fund raising

Norwell Beaver Scouts are collecting used stamps, raising money for dogs for the Hearing Impaired. Stamps can be left at the Scout Hall (old school) in Norwell or passed onto any Beaver, Cub or Scout.

We have members at Norwell, Caunton, North Muskham, Kneesall, Sutton, Normanton, as well Tuxford Academy. A big thank you to all.

1st Norwell Beaver Scouts

Beaver scouts are for boys and girls from 6 to 8 years old.

There are spaces for new members.

Beavers meet at Norwell old school on Monday evenings from 5.15 pm to 6.15pm

The Beaver Scout Leader is Anna Hill, whose phone number is 01636 822777.

1st Norwell (Trent) Cub Scouts

Cub scouts are for boys and girls from 8 to 10.5 years old.

Cubs meet at Norwell Old School on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm.

The Cub Scout Leader is Sian Burns, whose phone number is 01636 821774.

1st Norwell Scout Troop

Scouts are for boys or girls from 10 1/2 to 14 years old.

We usually meet on a Friday from 7pm to 9pm, at the Old School, School Lane, Norwell.

Please note at the time of writing, there is a waiting list for scouts.

We are currently looking for extra leaders or adult helpers, either full or part time.

Sadly there are currently no Brownies or Guides but anyone willing to start a group would be very welcome.

For example selecting:-

                                                                     'Beavers  -  Badges   then   Awards/Activity badges'.

You can find out how a Beaver who loves aeroplanes, or even hot air balloons, can get a badge for sharing his or her knowledge.

While a Beaver who has a pet, can get a badge for showing they know how to look after their pet properly.

Cubs who like to sing or write plays might be interested in the Entertainers Badge.

Scouts with an interest in growing things from a vegetable plot to working on the farm can work towards the Smallholders badge.

N.B. (Sadly it is several years since the Brownies used to meet at the school and there have never been Guides meeting in the village.
