Saturday 19 September 2015 - visit to the pinfold and Palishall

We are meeting at the Norwell pinfold at 2.30pm.  Jason Mordan, the Senior Conservation Officer for Nottinghamshire, will say something about the pinfold and other brick buildings in Norwell.

We then go on to Palishall to find out more about one of the oldest buildings in the parish.  This is by kind invitation of Graham and Rhona Price.  Please contact Elizabeth Jones This email address is being protected from spambots. Wednesday 21 October 2015 - Remembering the Battle of Waterloo 1815

In October, just for a change, we are looking beyond the bounds of the parish and the county to continental Europe.

Two hundred years ago in 1815 the Battle of Waterloo was fought between the combined forces of the British, Germans, Belgians, Dutch and Prussians under the command of the Duke of Wellington, and the French under the command of the Emperor Napoleon.  The name of the railway station in London confirms which side won (there is no Waterloo station in Paris).

Colin Heywood will be talking to us about the significance of that great battle on Wednesday 21 October at 7.30pm in Norwell Village Hall.  All welcome
